Vancouver has the honour of hosting the 2010 Olympics. They are already trying to manage the drug problems of the city.
I guess another issue is the sex trade. One organization is providing prostitutes information on their rights. After thinking of this a bit, I realize the benefit. People turn to the sex trade for many reason, one big one is the money. I could imagine that a reporter looking for a good story (or just a hot picture to sell) and offering cash to these people might seem very tempting.
Do they really care about "rights" or is it more about the city politicians fearing stories of "hey look Canada has prostitutes too" and want to deter certain people from getting in front of the camera?
